Call for Mental Health Professionals with Agricultural Understanding
Support the Well-being of New Brunswick's Farming Communities
Farm Talk Care, a mental health and farm safety initiative led by Agriculture NB—a partnership of the Agricultural Alliance of New Brunswick, National Farmers Union in NB, and Really Local Harvest—is expanding its network of agriculture-informed mental health professionals.
We’re seeking certified, compassionate counsellors and psychologists who understand the unique challenges of farming life to provide confidential, culturally relevant counselling services to farmers, farm families, and agricultural workers across New Brunswick.
What We’re Looking For:
- Certified professionals (CCTNB, NB Association of Social Workers, or equivalent) with a background in clinical counselling
- Minimum two years’ experience delivering clinical services
- Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care, suicide prevention, addictions, and crisis response
- Understanding of rural and farm culture—an agricultural background is a strong asset
- English and/or French proficiency, bilingualism is an asset

What You’ll Do:
- Deliver confidential, farm-focused counselling, in person or virtually, as a third-party service provider
- Support clients dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, burnout, addictions, grief, trauma, relationship stress, and more
- Conduct assessments, develop care plans, and provide brief solution-focused support
- Support referrals and navigation of additional mental health services
- Work on a flexible, part-time basis in the location(s) of your choice, with clients across the province
- Have access to a network of resources, training and support
- Be part of a growing national network working to strengthen mental health and rural service delivery for farmers and their families!
